Les Fireflies bring together two exceptionally talented, award-winning fiddlers, multi-instrumentalists, and singer-songwriters: Samantha Robichaud and Louise Vautour. With rich solo careers that have taken them across the globe, the duo now unites to deliver an unforgettable kitchen party experience, brimming with Scottish, Irish, and Acadian music.
Louise Vautour - Passionate about Celtic music, Louise Vautour has been immersed in traditional tunes since childhood. At 13, she picked up the fiddle under her father's guidance and later deepened her craft by studying traditional Irish music in Dublin, Ireland. A trailblazer in her own right, Louise opened a music school in her hometown of Bathurst, New Brunswick, and toured extensively across Canada, the U.S., and Europe with Ode à l’Acadie. As a solo artist, she has graced the stage at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France twice. Her 2009 album, Traces, features a collection of her original compositions. In 2018, Louise joined Les Fireflies, bringing her vibrant energy and expertise to the group.
Samantha Robichaud - A prolific recording artist, Samantha Robichaud has released eight critically acclaimed albums, including her most recent, Simplicity. This project showcases her own compositions, co-written works, and carefully curated pieces from her contemporaries. Samantha’s accolades include the 2013 MusicNB award for “Collaborative Musician of the Year” and the prestigious Daniel Pearl Memorial Violin, awarded in 2005 as part of the Daniel Pearl Foundation’s World Music Days.
